# How should the 2027 calendar change affect a renewal?


**Specify dates and datasets rather than buying an undefined “2027 season”.** MLS’s updated schedule places the Sprint regular season between **19 February and 8 May 2027**; the league’s new summer-to-spring calendar begins in **July 2027**. Recommended renewal questions:

- Does the order include both the Sprint Season and 2027–28 competition records?
- Are they separate competition-season identifiers in the API?
- Is charging based on contract duration, competition seasons, matches or another unit?
- What happens to prior-season video and stored exports at renewal?
- Are delivery commitments and support periods continuous through the transition?

The shorter Sprint Season is not, by itself, evidence that a subscription should be proportionately cheaper. Price the actual licence and service scope, then compare alternatives on that basis.
