# 2. Is an integrated video-and-data product now a credible replacement?

**22 July 2026 · Supplier launch.** Catapult announced IMPECT Video Scouting, describing full matches, individual-player scenes, playlists and integration with its Pro Video Suite. Its announcement claims availability across more than 150 men’s and women’s competitions, but does not establish a club-specific MLS or NWSL coverage inventory. **Buyer implication:** Include it in a Wyscout-alternatives trial only where the proposed competition scope and recruitment tasks match. Require the candidate product to reproduce the essential workflow before comparing optional features.

Separate three possible benefits:

- **Additional evidence:** information the incumbent cannot supply.
- **Workflow improvement:** the same useful evidence reaches the decision-maker more efficiently.
- **Replacement:** essential incumbent capabilities remain available after cancellation.

Do not call a product a replacement merely because the demonstration combines video and numbers.
