Three public developments make old supplier comparisons an inadequate starting point:
- The product boundaries have changed. Hudl announced integrated Wyscout video within Statsbomb on 28 July 2025. Its current soccer tracking page also advertises single-camera tracking, while explicitly marking some physical-data features and style-of-play metrics as forthcoming. A comparison should therefore distinguish products, packages and delivery status—not assume that each brand represents one fixed capability. (hudl.com)
- Coverage announcements can contain different entitlements within the same market. Hudl’s 19 February 2026 Colombian agreement includes Liga Femenina in its Wyscout video announcement, but specifically names Primera A and Primera B for additional Statsbomb data coverage. That announcement is not evidence of equivalent women’s event-data availability. (hudl.com)
- US expansion is attracting supplier investment, but investment is not buyer validation. Sports Business Journal reported SkillCorner’s US$60 million growth investment on 17 December 2025, including its intention to expand in the United States. Our procurement implication is to test additional offers against club needs rather than treat supplier growth as proof of incremental value. (sportsbusinessjournal.com)
